A Wissahickon Valley Park Engagement – Alex and Steve

6

The last two weeks in October are one of the most popular times for couples in the Philadelphia area to schedule engagement photos. The lighting is great, the weather is comfortable and everyone wants that beautiful fall foliage. In those respects, Alex and Steve’s Wissahickon Valley Park Engagement did not disappoint and I enjoyed the added benefit of working with this great couple. They were up for anything as we explored the woods near Kitchen’s Lane, a popular walking/biking path just outside the city. I often tell my couples that shooting engagements is a chance to get your feet wet with the idea of feeling comfortable while having someone take your picture. On this shoot, I tested that idiom a bit when I waded into the Wissahickon Creek so I could get shots of Alex and Steve from the water. Amid the photo-ing, I got to know Alex and Steve a bit and of course was curious how they met. Alex was attending a party at Steve’s house in high school. She had brought a date with her, but once she got to talking to Steve that night, that first date concluded immediately and a new one began. Years later, they are still going strong and taking that next step so clearly Alex made a great decision that evening.

Congrats to Alex and Steve! Enjoy the photos and be sure to wish them well in the comments below!
